The most effective presentations are those that leave a lasting impression. Lasting impressions are most memorable when as many of our human senses are triggered simultaneously (eg: sight, sound, smell, taste, touch). So it is easy to understand that.
- a 1-Dimensional paper flier or brochure (one sense, static presentation, motionless images) is least effective.
- a 2-Dimensional presentation that has motion images (action video, text and graphics), narration and background music going in concert with each other 2 senses and by the way, is also entertaining.
- a 3-D program that has all of the 2-D benefits above, but includes a level of interactivity 3 senses allowing the user to choose which part of the presentation to interact with next, and go at their own pace, with possible changes in outcomes depending on which choices they made (like a video game).
An old but familiar saying: "A picture is worth a thousand words, but a video is worth a library of pictures!"
